Community Q BBQ, our favorite photographers and YOU raised over $1000 for Neighbor in Need!!!
On October 6, 2012, ELF Market held its annual photography auction (Ps) and BBQ sale (Qs) to support East Lake’s Neighbor in Need (NIN).
NIN helps low-income elderly neighbors in East Lake, Kirkwood, Edgewood and surrounding communities make emergency home repairs. They work with these residents to bridge the gap between what the neighbor can afford and what the actual cost of the repair is.
Visit NIN’s website to learn more about the awesome projects they do with local seniors

$1300 Raised for ELF Market’s Double Your Dollar Program!
And the winners are…
Bone Lick BBQ-People’s Choice Award
John Beglar-Amateur Prize ($100)
Over 400 local community members came out to celebrate with us for our 3rd annual Collard Greens Cook-off. No. 246 wowed the judges with their secret sauce, and Bone Lick BBQ was the pick of the crowd with their specially prepared pork (the chef even butchered the pig himself). The story of the day was John Beglar who came straight off the street and signed up on-the-spot. His recipe included a chicken wing twist never seen at the Collards Cook-off before.
The Cause: All proceeds from the cook-off help fund the market’s Double Your Dollar Program (a food assistance program) through Wholesome Wave Georgia.
Coming in 2013: The new ELF Co-op for weekly produce bundles fresh from the farm!
This season, the ELF Market is adding a Cooperative CSA that will provide the East Lake community (and surrounding areas) with a stronger and more direct farm connection. The ELF Market Cooperative CSA; or ELF Co-op, will give you more access to fresh food while supporting local farmers.
There are many ways to get involved this year and help support the market:
• Volunteer to work at the market – We are always looking for volunteers to help at the market. Please e-mail us if you are interested in helping out!
Plan to join us this season, starting April 13th!
You’ll find us on Saturdays from 9am – 1 pm
April – November, at:
2343 Hosea L Williams Dr. at the intersection of East Lake, Kirkwood and Oakhurst, on the Eastern side of Atlanta.
